Frequently asked questions
Is this an official IQ test?
No. It is a cognitive test built for self-discovery. It has not gone through clinical standardization, so we report a Cognitive Score rather than an IQ, and results should not be used for medical, educational or hiring decisions.
What does the cognitive score mean?
The score uses a scale where 100 is the average of the reference group and 15 points is one standard deviation. A score of 115 means you performed better than roughly 84% of that group.
How is the percentile calculated?
While the platform is new, percentiles are estimated from a published reference distribution. Once enough people have completed the test, we also show where you stand among real participants. Every result states which group it uses.
How long does it take?
The test has 30 questions and a 30-minute time limit, similar to classic timed matrix tests. Questions get harder in three stages, and a timeline at the top shows the time left and the recommended pace. When time runs out, the answers you gave are scored and unanswered questions count as incorrect.
Is this a Mensa test?
No. It follows the same kind of format as well-known matrix reasoning tests (visual rules in a grid, rising difficulty, a time limit), but every question is original and we are not affiliated with Mensa or any testing organization. Only a supervised test can qualify you for membership.
Is it free?
Yes. The test and the basic result, including your score, percentile and ability scores, are free. A detailed report is available as an optional one-time purchase.
Do I need an account?
No. You can start right away. Your progress is saved on this device so you can continue if you close the page.
What happens to my answers?
Answers are stored with an anonymous identifier to calculate your result and to improve question quality. We do not ask for your name or email to take the test.
Can I retake the test?
Yes, but scores usually rise on a second attempt because the questions feel familiar. Your first attempt is the most meaningful measure.
